peanut's nursery...

is almost done but we'll show you some in progress shots!

the room was already this nice asexual, soft, yellowy cream color so we choose to stick with it. we wanted a nature theme- but didn't want it to be animals or anything mass produced. so we choose to paint a mural with white birch trees. one of my favorites because they are all over my camp in upstate new york, which is a very special place. this way we could also incorporate birds (a few hummingbirds :) my original plan was to get a branch from maybe flagstaff (they have aspen up there, so close enough) and attach it to the wall & hang the birds from that, but we haven't gotten that far yet!

we're also going to frame several pictures of our families on the wall to the right of the glider so we can be talking to peanut about all the people that love him, but are on the other side of the country.

i've hung the painting of my grandparents up over his bookshelf & we're getting pictures of bryan's grandmother's to hang there as well- so that's his safe lil "loved ones watching over him" corner.

we already had this inexpensive bookshelf, but i want to eventually make him one with specific compartments for books, toys, etc. i have it all planned out in my head but i need some major tools to do it & possibly my papa's help. this totally works for now.

my cousin, erin & her fiance, andrew, got us this mobile, isn't it awesome? & doesn't the crib look great? we have light blue sheets on it right now & cute stuffed animals. the organic mattress was just delivered last week :)

here's peanut in his room!

i went to about 15 stores looking for a cool antique dresser, with no luck so we finally ended up getting this one at ikea & are waiting for my dad to come visit because he's going to paint it blue for us! That will really finish the room by adding some more color!

you can barely see them but we have tibetan prayer flags hanging in the window. we got them on our last vacation to boulder.

here's bryan practicing rocking with skye. she didn't enjoy this very much :)

i'm pretty excited. i probably would have done things a lil differently if i knew we were going to be here for awhile, but things are all up in the air about that! we're hoping to stay here for at least 6 more months but who knows.

we went home in april for my friend megan & ryle's wedding! megan o. now officialy a megan r. (which may cause some problems :) has been a very close friend of mine since 3rd grade. i spent many hours at her house growing up- so it was an honor for me to be such a special part of her wedding. even though my dress needed some major altering thanks to our very healthy little boy :)

while we were home we thought it would be a great oppurtunity to have our showers & so our sisters & aunts jumped all over it & organized some fabulous parties.

the paris/meyer shower was thursday evening, with a cookout. everything was delicious! they gave plants away as prizes, printed the invites on recycled paper with soy based ink & asked everyone to be eco friendly with the packaging! my annoying lil save the world 'tude is spreading i tell ya!!!!

here are a few pics... i didn't take many & my sis was forced to take a few as well.

the men were quite surprised to be invited to a shower... although this here is proof they enjoyed themselves ;)
it was cute outfits galore. bryan's mom saved some of his clothes & those were very cute, even the sailor outfit!

the cake was not only adorable but yummy- even after bryan pawed each piece.

the paris' enjoying some "refreshments" & some hot dogs & burgers!
& i just thought this was funny. bryan's expression- leo trying to wrangle out of his hands... i don't know what it is but something makes me smile.

thank you so much melissa & aunt di. we felt very loved & are more prepared now to welcome peanut into this crazy world!

here's a photo of the planners: aunt di, melissa & stephi. my mom helped as well although she insists steph did most of it.

& now for the miller/resch shower:

a few friends from college drove up from nashville & bowling green to celebrate with us. thanks deshawn (& her daughter gwyn not pictured), clay & rose... love you.

everyone enjoying the quiches outside on an incredibly sunny, warm day.

our baby photos... i was surprised after seeing these photos together that we looked somewhat alike!

steph that morning preparing the food... not stressed at all :)

this is out of order but i thought it was cute- us relaxing after the wedding- i was so pooped from dancing all night long. peanut was incredibly restless that night & i didn't sleep because i was constantly thinking i was going into labor.

possibly the funniest present from either shower. mitchell's mother made peanut a singlet. for those of you wondering what in the hell is a singlet... well, bryan wore one of these most of highschool- because he has a great sense of fashion. no, that's not it. he wore it for wrestling & we all made fun of him because it's quite similar to a to-to. it was unfortunately st.x colors with a st.x logo- but still damn cute.

more cute clothes.

kelly & i are only a few days apart & i think this is incredibly unfair- look how tiny she is!!!! they are having a little girl... so we've basically already arranged their marriage.

resch family photo.
mom, john, stephi, bryan, me & papa.
both of my parents are still considering what they want to be called... so if you have any good suggestions let us know!!!

lou crew family photo.
most of our friends from highschool- we're missing carson & maria, theresa & jeff, sara & john, scott & gt , but almost everyone. another significant thing about this picture is that four of us are pregnant... although one of us had not announced it yet!!!! so excited for you ruthie & bryan.
the babes are quickly taking over our worlds :)
& then we played one game. only one game, not too tortureous. it was actually hillarious. here is the photo of the winners- the boys for some reason won...

it was a relay race- one side had the toilet paper roll between their legs & the other side had the plunger between their legs- the plunger had to run to the toilet paper & safely insert the shaft into it. are you getting the picture??? we were educating people here.
(my aunt barbara, the one with the toilet paper roll... flew in from atlanta for the shower as well!)

it was more entertaining to watch, as you can see from everyone dying. although playing it was pretty ridiculous as well.

even aunt di was getting into documenting it :)
we hadn't taken a sibling picture in forever & i love how this one turned out.

me & papa.

my cousin patrick & his fiance jennifer showed up for a little bit which was awesome since she was scheduled for a c-section the next morning! so we did a very mini, mini photo shoot for them since they didn't have any of the belly yet!

kennedy was indeed born the next day, healthy & beautiful. peanut is so lucky to have so many friends born so close to him.

thank you stephi & mom for an awesome shower. we again felt loved & really enjoyed figuring out how to bring all the goodies home with us. we wished we didn't have to rush away after the shower to catch our plane- but we'll be home in august for a couple weeks.
