i was determined to be the type of parent that was conservative on the toy front. (not too many other fronts can i use that word about myself!!) finn was going to have a limit of 10-15 toys at a time. period. i'd have bins & would switch them out every so often so he wouldn't get bored. very montessori... but it hasn't happened yet. bryan says i'm offically in the overboard category. so it's my new goal to dial it down. but there are so many amazing wooden, fabric or some other sustainable material toys out there!!! it's hard to control myself.
AND christmas is going to be so much fun this year because finn will totally get what's going on.
so, i've been making finn's list & checking it twice for things i know he'd love. if you just read things mama would love that wouldn't be wrong, either. here it is... in all it's glory the items i deam amazing!
*i can't believe i didn't add this on my first go round. better world books. they have an amazing bargain bin & free shipping. a percentage of your proceeds goes to literacy & libraries around the world! it's an oh-so-worthy-organization.
* tom's finn is at least a size 7
* this kitchen set is amazing! i can't wait to get this for him for christmas. it's all wood (no metal), made in america & incredibly sturdy. i can't wait for him to start enjoying cooking while i cook!
i mentioned this was what i was giving him for christmas to someone & they said "but he's a boy." i was flabbergasted. do men not cook? should little boys not grow up knowing how to prepare food? sheesh. that just makes me more hardcore about this being his christmas present.
*wheely bug i think finn would have a blast with this! thanks for introducing us to it ruth!
*other groceries :)
*cool wooden slide from ikea
*wooden cars
*this boy also needs an elmo doll. he's obsessed. we have one elmo book & it's in the must read pile every time.
side note. we love all melissa & doug toys. even though they're now made in china. sad face. so we are looking for more local options & find lots of great things on etsy. but, michael's now sells a few melissa & doug toys. & they have 40% off coupons regularly.
can't wait to hear your favorite things!
and i hope you have a very happy holiday season.
