dee dee & pop visit upstate new york

pop had some vacation time during our trip to silver bay. they ironically had been talking to denise's brother about a new england road trip- we convinced them to fly into albany & visit one of our favorite places in the world, silver bay.

we met them at a train dinner in glen falls- finn loved it!
we walked around the sagamore- one of the swankiest hotels i've ever seen.
(& where my couple had their reception. it was beautiful.)
we walked around silver bay- this is one of my favorite spots on campus,
just outside the chapel.
these grown men were ridiculous attempting this labyrinth. they completely cheated.
maya did a better job than them :)
doh.
another view.
we took a tour around fort ticonderoga.
check out this handsome man.
we took the ferry to vermont. in all my years i've been going to ny & vermont
i never took the ferry. so this was fun for me too!

it's so old school you pulled on this string & a mirror flashed the driver of the ferry & they'd come get you. they laughed at bryan when he asked if that's really how it worked.
they said "nah, we come when we see cars."
the light while we were on this ferry was magical.
my sweet boy.
his hair was glowing, out of control.
middlebury. one of the coolest little towns. so untouched by chains. perfect.
it was unfortunately raining pretty hard, so we didn't get to hang out there as long as i'd hoped.
our dear friends cathi & tyler live in burlington.
we left bryan's parents & aunt & uncle & headed to their house.
it was almost bed time, so we only got to play for about an hour.
we were all tired so we headed to bed soon after.
breakfast before isabelle & nathan went to school.
we've really got to get maya a stroller, she loves them.
& then we headed into town. another sweet little town.
we ate breakfast at my favorite lil restaurant & they were brilliant. the woman brought over this cup with these lil toys in it. totally kept him entertained & well behaved. then, their fruit cup. was DELICIOUS. full of good fruit. not cheap filler fruit.
the drive back to new york.
it was my first time over the new bridge. the old one was condemned & torn down.

we spent our last night hanging out with carolyn. then we headed back to kentucky
where i had another wedding (3 in a row!) in lexington.
