peanut's nursery...

is almost done but we'll show you some in progress shots!

the room was already this nice asexual, soft, yellowy cream color so we choose to stick with it. we wanted a nature theme- but didn't want it to be animals or anything mass produced. so we choose to paint a mural with white birch trees. one of my favorites because they are all over my camp in upstate new york, which is a very special place. this way we could also incorporate birds (a few hummingbirds :) my original plan was to get a branch from maybe flagstaff (they have aspen up there, so close enough) and attach it to the wall & hang the birds from that, but we haven't gotten that far yet!

we're also going to frame several pictures of our families on the wall to the right of the glider so we can be talking to peanut about all the people that love him, but are on the other side of the country.

i've hung the painting of my grandparents up over his bookshelf & we're getting pictures of bryan's grandmother's to hang there as well- so that's his safe lil "loved ones watching over him" corner.

we already had this inexpensive bookshelf, but i want to eventually make him one with specific compartments for books, toys, etc. i have it all planned out in my head but i need some major tools to do it & possibly my papa's help. this totally works for now.

my cousin, erin & her fiance, andrew, got us this mobile, isn't it awesome? & doesn't the crib look great? we have light blue sheets on it right now & cute stuffed animals. the organic mattress was just delivered last week :)

here's peanut in his room!

i went to about 15 stores looking for a cool antique dresser, with no luck so we finally ended up getting this one at ikea & are waiting for my dad to come visit because he's going to paint it blue for us! That will really finish the room by adding some more color!

you can barely see them but we have tibetan prayer flags hanging in the window. we got them on our last vacation to boulder.

here's bryan practicing rocking with skye. she didn't enjoy this very much :)

i'm pretty excited. i probably would have done things a lil differently if i knew we were going to be here for awhile, but things are all up in the air about that! we're hoping to stay here for at least 6 more months but who knows.

Oh la la! Love what you did with the nursery. I would expect nothing less from you my dear. How you doing? Hanging in there? Your pregnancy twin (my friend here in Boulder) just called me from the hospital today and she is underway. Wishing the same for you soon too. Can't wait to meet this peanut. We'll be thinking about you. (This is Sarah, by the way - I think Ted is logged in...) But he's excited too! :)

Megan-

Your Grandpa is RIPPED!!! I hope bp will find some inspiration since he will have to spend some time in that room.
