at 10 months old
just the other day finn aged another month. he's now 10 months old. insert every corny thing about time, childhood, life going incredibly fast. it's true. i've read it on a thousand other mommy blogs. we can't believe it, even as we say it. i think it's halfway because we don't want it to be true- or at least that's my case. with each milestone i'm sad. my babe is turning into a kid- it's outrageous. i don't like it. i want him little & cuddly always! now imagine my tantrum on my office floor, not too loud because i don't want to wake this babe- tantrum none the less.
so. finn.
turns the pages of his book, on his own, usually at the correct time after we're done reading the page. BUT. what i think is sooooo cool- we have a book called tails. it's awesome. it has flaps & shimmidiggers that make the tails wag, very interactive. finn knows what to do on those pages- he'll lift the flaps and try to grasp the wagg part. smart lil boy.
he held up a ball today and said baw. he. said. baw.
he also says da (sometimes adding a g) when the dogs are around.
his favorite & first word is uh-oh. it's purty darn sweet coming out of his little voice.
had some zucchini today & liked it. had lots of strawberries yesterday & loved it.
bryan has been putting him down for the night lately, he does this incredibly well. finn might cry for like 5 minutes- and bryan is even better at laying him in his crib- i'd say waking once he lets go only 25% of the time. if i do it i've got a 60% chance we'll start our cycle all over again. occasionally, i'll get tired of our routine & while rocking him to sleep for the 5th time i'll firmly say bryan! (and probably repeat it several times because he's fallen asleep on the couch.) he then comes in rubbing his eyes and takes over for me. five minutes later he comes out & we can either both crash or sit up and talk.
until i call for bryan finn will squirm in my arms & attempt to climb my body- all in protest of sleeping. once i call for bryan, i've noticed he goes limp. like, crap you've called dad, fine i'll go to bed now. so, today during naptime- we did the whole wake-up once laid down routine & while holding him i decided to try it out. i said bryan. finn went limp & was out in like 10 minutes!
the kid is already afraid of his dad! the magic. he already knows dad means business. we knew that in my family- mom said on more than a thousand occasions -wait till your dad gets home! this just cracked me up. i just used this trick again tonight. bryan's at ultimate practice, tehee. snicker. moms are smart.
anyways. this boy of ours. too much fun!
