lavender festival...

in sho-low. i read about this festival in a magazine while waiting for the obgyn. i was maybe 3 months pregnant. they have it annually over my birthday weekend & i was dead set on going. i emailed friends & hoped to make it a really great weekend away from the heat. months roll by & finally it arrives. a few friends have to back out, but andy & arielle were still game so they were going to meet us up there on saturday. we left friday during naptime.

we took the longer route, because it was purty. finn says "mommy hold you" with his hands out like that. it's pretty adorable.
that should be a river down there, but we live in a desert. so it's not.
it was so much fun having a pool in our backyard we played in it every chance we got. a few of these pictures are andy delisle's! i believe this one is.
we don't have a t.v. so, this was also a big hit. i think bryan watched 10 episodes of those survivor shows, ya know, the dude with the bare feet.
we hit up the tiny farmer's market. had ourselves a yummy muffin.
sweet ky-ky.

finn picked me a flower!
happy to you mommy :)

we decided to get a mini photo session in with this amazing sunset. arielle was due a few weeks after me, so we had to get a picture together.
thanks for these andy! so sweet.

my favorite that i took of them.
& then the lavender festival... we hit it up sunday morning. this whole weekend was incredibly hot, but sunday was uncomfortable. they had a dry summer & winter so the lavender wasn't as colorful... but it was still beautiful. finn was a crank monster. no one could hold him but me... i'm 8 months pregnant & trying to take some pictures of arielle & andy. a bit difficulte'. lavender cupcakes made us all better.
he for some reason has gotten obsessed with the wind blowing his hat away. so he whines & kinda freaks out when a gust of wind would blow.

andy took a few sweet portraits of us, but finn didn't really want to cooperate.
:)

the mama's.
the cranky two year old.
you got to pick all the bundles you wanted for $5 each...
finn was very helpful with that part.

& then we headed home. it was nap time & this kid needed it, plus we were exhausted from the heat. this was our first attempt at letting him watch a movie on my ipod touch... he did an awesome job.
he fell asleep halfway through the movie & once home he remembered it wasn't over so we watched the end of it.
ah... gotta love this view. cute lil hinny & my handsome man vacuuming!
happy to me :)
