april 2013 : paris vacation

easter sunday. the kids found their easter baskets in the morning
when they woke up & the bubbles were the biggest hit.

we went to mass at the hills. everyone brought a flower & put it on the cross, which i thought was one of the most beautiful symbols i've seen in a long time.

on they way home from mass we get the call that our family was at the airport!
they'd landed!
bryan went to pick up gabe & evelyn & i scrambled to make our grand lunch.
i'd picked up a ham & made my friend jenn's amazing poppy seed salad.

some beautiful spring runaculas.

i thought these lil bunnies were adorable.
i picked up some amazing french macarons from essence bakery.
to die for.

there was a game on.

it also happened to be melissa's birthday. so i got her a gelato cake!

after lunch we headed to our rental house that was wayyyyyyyyyy out in the east part of the desert.
the kids baskets enjoyed their baskets.

we spent a lot of time at the playground behind our house.

in their baskets were tons of art supplies. they loved decorating their birdhouses.

we attempted to make snow globes but never finished them.

these boys really bonded.

the pool was a lot of fun!

while in the pool, finn got impaled by a flying plastic dinosaur. it left a decent lil deep gash & freaked us out a lil because there was quite a bit of blood. looking at the picture, it definitely doesn't look as bad as i remember it. he was so scared. my baby.

i got this awesome egg that we had to leave in water until it hatched
& then a cute lil sea turtle was born! the kids were mesmorized by it.
picked it up & studied the crack several times a day.

i guess he wanted another turn at batting? dont remember what was going on here.
but that's our roof there on the left.

we went on a lil hike. everyone under 5 ended up being carried most of the way. but it was beautiful.
evie studying the snakes.

we also got to celebrate evie & jody's birthday! they wanted to go to our awesome children's museum & paradise bakery for lunch.

then we celebrated that night with cake & cupcakes.

and of course presents!

what a great trip.
